Why use EZ PDF Editor

Real PNG savings

Plain re-saving barely shrinks a PNG. We use true lossy colour quantization (down to a smart 256-colour palette), which cuts PNG file size dramatically while keeping edges crisp and transparency intact.

Transparency preserved

Your alpha channel is kept, so logos, icons and cut-outs stay transparent — they just weigh a lot less. No white box gets added behind them.

100% private — nothing uploaded

Compression runs entirely inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to a server, so it is safe even for private graphics and screenshots.

Frequently asked questions

Is this safe? Do you upload my files?

No upload, ever. The compression runs entirely inside your browser using your own device — your files are never sent to any server and nothing is stored or shared. That makes it safe for sensitive graphics and screenshots, because the files never leave your device.

How does PNG compression work here?

Re-saving a PNG barely shrinks it, so we use UPNG.js to apply real lossy colour quantization — reducing the image to a compact palette (around 256 colours) right in your browser. That cuts the file size dramatically while keeping sharp edges and the transparency of your original.

Does it keep transparency?

Yes. The alpha channel is preserved, so transparent logos, icons and cut-outs stay transparent after compression — they just weigh far less. Nothing is flattened onto a white background.

Will I lose quality?

Quantizing to a smaller palette is technically lossy, but for most graphics, screenshots and logos the result looks the same to the eye at a fraction of the size. If a PNG can't be shrunk, we keep your original bytes so you never download a bigger file.

How do I compress a PNG for free?

Open this page, drop your .png files into the box, and download the smaller versions. There is no account, no email, no watermark and nothing to install — it is free and unlimited.

Can I compress many PNGs at once?

Yes. Drop a whole batch and each one is compressed right in your browser, then bundled into a single ZIP you can download in one click, with each file up to 60 MB.

Can I do it on my phone?

Yes. Open the page in any mobile browser on iPhone or Android, choose your PNG images, and the compressed files download straight to your phone — no app required.

Does compressing add a watermark?

Never. Your compressed PNGs come out completely clean with nothing stamped on them — no logo, no badge, no paywall and no credit card.
