How it works in four beats

- Set compliance focus and jurisdiction — your province or state, and the rules that matter for it.
- Add the parties — names and details; the draft is built around them.
From there it's yours: edit any sentence, add clauses, then export a PDF or send it for e-signature in the same editor.
Where to start it
Sign in to the editor, then click the ▾ arrow on the + New button on your dashboard and choose AI Document Wizard — or open New & Open › AI Document Wizard in the sidebar. Give the document a heading (up to 250 characters), work through the four beats above, and generate.

Every account — Free included — gets 2 free AI generations. The wizard keeps count for you ("1 of 2 Free AI Generations Remaining"), and the sidebar shows how many you have left. Pro and Pro Signing include unlimited AI drafting. To keep things fair, each account can send up to 3 generation requests every 10 minutes.
Used your two? You're not stuck. The wizard offers the upgrade, or the free route: Browse Template Library has 12 static legal starter templates, from an Acknowledgement of Signature and a Statutory Declaration to a Power of Attorney (property) and a Will / Estates Signing Sheet. Fill in the [bracketed] blanks, then sign it or send it for signature. The templates are free on every plan and use no AI at all.
Use it as a scaffold
The draft is a starting point, not legal advice. It saves the blank-page hour and gives a professional structure — then a lawyer or notary reviews it before it becomes the real thing. That's the honest way to use AI on documents, and it's how we frame it everywhere.
Privacy on AI drafts
Drafting uses DeepSeek by default, with OpenAI as an automatic fallback. Only what you type into the form (title, profession, document type, compliance type, jurisdiction, notes) and the parties you pick (name, email, occupation, city, province) are sent — never a PDF — and we don't store them; we keep only token-count metadata. DeepSeek is based in China and processes data there, and OpenAI is in the US, so this is a transfer outside Canada, and the information may be accessible to authorities in those countries. If that matters for a file, leave out the parties and notes, or skip AI drafting — it's optional. Full details are in the privacy policy.
