What AI Polish does
Open any Text Document page in the editor and you will see an amber AI Polish pill in the top-right corner of the page. Click it, choose a style, and it rewrites the wording on that page — the words you typed, said back better.
It is a rewriter, not a writer. It does not research your situation, invent a clause you forgot, or fill in a blank you left empty. It takes the page as it stands and improves how it reads. You can also add an optional instruction of up to 500 characters if you want something specific, such as “keep the numbered sections but shorten section 4”.
One more boundary worth knowing up front: AI Polish works on Text Document pages only. PDF pages and Design pages are left alone, because there is no editable prose for it to rewrite.
The four styles, and when to use each

Not sure? Run one, look at the result, and use Try another style to go back a step and try a different one. Nothing has been applied yet at that point.
Nothing changes until you say so
This is the part that matters on a legal document. AI Polish never edits in the background. The result comes back in a side-by-side review: Now on one side, Polished on the other, so you can read the two versions against each other.
Your page changes only when you click Replace page with the polished version. And even that is not final — the replacement goes through the editor’s normal undo stack, so Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) puts your original wording straight back. Read it, replace it, and if you preferred what you had, undo it.
What it never touches
The instructions behind AI Polish hold it to rewriting. It is built to keep:
- The meaning — the clause has to say the same thing afterwards.
- Facts, numbers, dates and names — $1,850.00 stays $1,850.00; the 1st of the month stays the 1st.
- Every [bracketed] blank — the placeholders you still have to fill in survive the rewrite.
- Headings and structure — the same sections, in the same order, at the same level.
- Signature lines — signature blocks and witness lines are left where they are.
It also never adds a clause that was not there. If the page is missing an indemnity, AI Polish will not helpfully write one for you — that is what the AI Document Wizard is for.
Before and after: one clumsy clause
Here is a rent clause written the way people actually write them at 11pm:
Now: “It is hereby understood and agreed by and between the parties hereto that the Tenant shall, on or before the 1st day of each and every month during the term hereof, make payment of rent in the amount of $1,850.00 to the Landlord, and in the event that the said payment is not received by the Landlord within five (5) days of the date upon which the same became due and payable, a late fee in the amount of $50.00 shall thereupon become payable by the Tenant in addition thereto.”
Polished (Tighten & clarify): “The Tenant will pay rent of $1,850.00 to the Landlord on or before the 1st of each month during the term. If the Landlord has not received that payment within 5 days of its due date, the Tenant will also pay a late fee of $50.00.”
Same parties, same $1,850.00, same 5 days, same $50.00, same obligation — roughly half the words. Run the same clause through Plain language instead and you get something a tenant reads once and understands; run it through Formal legal tone and it tightens without losing the register of an agreement.

Two details worth knowing:
- This allowance is separate from the AI Document Wizard’s 2 free generations for the life of the account. Polishing does not spend a generation, and generating does not spend a polish.
- To keep things fair there is a limit of 10 polish requests every 10 minutes, and AI Polish works on one page at a time — it is a page tool, not a whole-book button.
Why monthly rather than a lifetime count? Because polishing is part of editing. A lifetime allowance would be gone on your first afternoon; a monthly one is there the next time you write something.

Where your words go
AI Polish runs on the same engines as AI drafting: DeepSeek by default, with OpenAI as an automatic fallback. The text of the page you are polishing is what gets sent — never your PDF files — and we keep only token-count metadata, not your wording.
DeepSeek is based in China and processes data there; OpenAI is in the United States. Polishing a page is therefore a transfer outside Canada, and the information may be accessible to authorities in those countries. It is the same disclosure the AI Document Wizard carries, and the same choice: if a page holds something you would not send abroad, edit it by hand — AI Polish is entirely optional.
