A blank page that ends as a signed PDF

Most PDF tools assume you already have a file. Plenty of work starts from nothing — a letter, a clause, a memo, a notice. Write is the blank page: a real word processor in your browser that exports genuine selectable-text PDF, then hands it straight to signing.

How it works

Blank page to signed document, without changing apps

The reason this exists: writing a document and getting it signed are normally two different products, two exports and one lost afternoon.

1

Write it

Open a blank page and type. Bold, italic, underline, headings, lists, alignment, size and colour — with spell-check as you go. Or open an existing Word or Excel file and carry on from there.

Runs in your browser
2

Export a real PDF

One click produces a genuine PDF whose text is actual text — searchable, copyable, accessible to screen readers. Not a screenshot of a page pretending to be a document.

Selectable text
3

Sign it or send it

Drop your own signature on it, or send it out for e-signature and get the tamper-sealed copy back with a certificate. Same tab, same file, no re-upload.

Straight into signing

Pagination that just happens

Fill a page and the next one appears

This is the part that feels like magic. Type to the bottom of a sheet and a new page slides in underneath. Paste eight pages of text out of an email and pages keep being created until everything fits — nothing spills off the edge, nothing silently disappears below the fold.

You are writing on paper-shaped pages the whole time, so what you see is what the PDF will be.

Pro AI drafting assistant

A structured starting point, not a blank stare

Tell it the document type, the jurisdiction and province, and who the parties are, and it drafts the scaffolding: standard sections in plain language, a parties block, a document-details block, and a notary cover sheet for your file.

It is deliberately a starting point. Every draft opens with the disclaimer that it is not legal advice, it never invents statutes or citations, and it is built to be reviewed and refined — ideally with a lawyer. That constraint is the feature: a scaffold you can trust beats confident-sounding text you cannot.

Word & Excel, no Microsoft

Already have the file? Drop it in.

.doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .rtf, .odt, .txt and .csv open in the same editor. They convert on our server and open as an editable document you can finish here and export — and the uploaded file is deleted right after the conversion.

One editor for writing from scratch and for finishing something somebody else started.

Export that respects the reader

Real text — searchable, copyable, accessible

Plenty of browser tools "export a PDF" by taking a picture of the page. The result cannot be searched, cannot be copied, and is invisible to a screen reader. Ours writes actual text into the file.

That matters more than it sounds: it is what lets someone quote a clause, what lets a search find the document years later, and what makes it accessible rather than merely legible.

The whole point

Write it, sign it, seal it — one tab

The document you just wrote is already open in the editor that sends for signature. Add signers, drop their signature boxes on the page you just typed, and send. When everyone has signed, the tamper-sealed PDF with its Certificate of Signing & Seal comes back to all parties.

No export, no re-upload, no "which version did I send?".

Private by design

Your draft does not leave your device

Writing and formatting run entirely in your browser. The document stays on your machine until you choose to save it to your account or download it — there is no autosave to somebody's cloud, no document sitting in a training corpus, no "we may process your content to improve our services".

The one exception is opening an Office file, which needs a server conversion — and that upload is deleted immediately afterwards.

Why write here

Nine reasons this beats "just use Docs"

Not because it has more features than Google Docs — it does not. Because of what happens to the document after you finish writing it.

🚪

No account, ever

Open the page and type. No sign-in, no "choose a plan", no Google account attached to your letter.

📄

Real pages, live

Automatic pagination means you are always looking at the document as it will print, not a scrolling text box you hope breaks nicely.

✍️

Signing is built in

Finish writing and send it for e-signature in the same tab. No export, no upload to a second product, no version drift.

🔏

Ends as sealed evidence

What you wrote can come back tamper-sealed with a certificate anyone can verify. A word processor cannot do that.

📂

Opens Office files

Word, Excel, RTF, ODT, CSV and plain text open as editable documents. No Microsoft licence required.

🔍

Text that stays text

Exported PDFs are searchable, copyable and accessible — not flattened images with the text baked in.

🛡️

Nothing uploaded

Drafting runs on your device. The only server round-trip is Office conversion, and those files are deleted right after.

🚫

No watermark, no catch

Free means free: unlimited documents, full export, nothing stamped across the page to make you upgrade.

Questions

Good to know

Is it really free?

Yes. Writing, formatting, pagination and PDF export are free with no account and no watermark. Only volume e-signature and the AI drafting assistant sit behind Pro.

Does my document get uploaded?

No. Writing and formatting run entirely in your browser, and the document stays on your device until you choose to save it to your account or download it. The one exception is opening a Word or Excel file, which needs a server conversion — those uploads are deleted immediately afterwards.

Can I open Word and Excel files?

Yes — .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .rtf, .odt, .txt and .csv open as editable documents you can finish here and export.

Is the exported PDF real text?

Yes. The text is genuine selectable text, so it can be searched, copied and read by assistive technology — not a picture of a page.

What exactly is the AI drafting assistant?

A Pro feature that drafts a structured starting point for a Canadian document: standard sections in plain language, a parties block, document details and a notary cover sheet, scoped to the jurisdiction and province you choose. It is built with hard limits — it never invents statutes or citations, and every draft opens with a disclaimer that it is a starting point and not legal advice. Review it with a qualified lawyer before use.

Can I sign what I write?

Yes. Sign it yourself, or send it out for e-signature and get the completed tamper-sealed PDF back — without leaving the app. For witnessed signings there is the Video Signing Room.

Can several people edit at once?

No — there is no real-time collaboration or comment threading. If that is what you need, a cloud word processor is genuinely the better tool. This is built for writing a document that needs to end up signed and sealed.

What happens if I close the tab?

Work is autosaved locally in the browser, so reopening picks up where you left off on the same device. For anything important, export the PDF or save it to your account.

Open a blank page.
